Our story

The Cedar Lounge isn’t just a pub—it’s a place where stories begin, unfold, and are passed on. Family-run and deeply rooted in the heart of Raheny, we’ve grown alongside the community we serve. From first pints to milestone celebrations, quiet chats to roaring match days, our walls have seen it all. What started as a neighbourhood local has become a second home for generations, where familiar faces, great music, and a warm welcome are always on tap. Our story is still being written—one laugh, one song, and one shared moment at a time.

Our history

Established in 1963, The Cedar Lounge has been a proud part of Raheny’s community for over six decades. Built during a time of rapid suburban growth, the pub quickly became a beloved local landmark—a warm and welcoming space where neighbours gather, friendships are made, and memories are shared. Over the years, The Cedar Lounge has remained true to its roots while evolving with the times, hosting everything from family celebrations to live music nights. Famously featured in the film The Snapper, the pub continues to serve as a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike, offering great pints, good company, and a true taste of North Dublin hospitality.
